Forsaken

for·sak·en

adjective: forsaken
  1. abandoned or deserted.
"a journey into forgotten and forsaken places"
The fight to hear the promises of the Lord has never been more real in my life then it is at this moment.  I feel that I have indeed journeyed into a forgotten and forsaken place.  This place, where Christ's sure voice grows dim and Satan's taunts ring so loud.  This place, where you are just sure all you future joy and peace has been stolen never to return.  A place that is deep with sadness but eerily comfortable.

But then, "It is the Lord who goes before you.  He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.  Do not fear or be dismayed."  - Deut 31:8

Oh the choice to stay in flesh.  Wading through the fear of what won't be. The fear of what will be.  Dismay over what has been. Dismay over what is to come.  It is natural to stall here.  To want to stay motionless in the confusion and sadness.

To not be satisfied with the natural but resolve to pursue the Super-Natural, that is the call.  Man may forsake me. Man may abandon me. BUT I am not forgotten by my Jesus.  He weeps with me. He grieves with me.  He sees injustice and He promises to make right.  He sees broken, and He promises to restore.  He sees forsaken, and he promises to redeem for His Glory alone.

And so I plead, "The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands." - Psalms 138:8
